Abstract
Stored procedures solve many problems. Some people could use them to develop open source libraries that add new, non-native but still useful features. Some features that were implemented in MariaDB could have been developed as procedures and the result would have been acceptable.
But the current implementation has many flaws and missing features that prevent their use, especially when it comes to producing reusable libraries. I will talk about these flaws and will explain why they’re important.
