Earlier this week we were happy to announce that MariaDB will have its own devroom at FOSDEM21, taking place on 6 February 2021, and now the CfP is open.
FOSDEM is free to attend, and no registration is necessary. It’s aimed at free and open-source developers, so engineering and DBA-related topics such as:
- best practices
- migrating to MariaDB
- MariaDB features
- optimising on particular hardware
are all welcome. Submissions that miss the mark, such as marketing talks, are not welcome.
We are expecting far more submissions than we can accommodate, so we are looking for 20 minute talks (with an extra 5m for questions) to accommodate as many high-quality speakers as possible.

A provisional schedule for the first MariaDB Day, to be held as part of the FOSDEM Fringe in Brussels at the Bedford Hotel and Congress Centre on Sunday February 2, is now available.
MariaDB Day is a complementary event to MySQL, MariaDB and Friends, giving an opportunity to more speakers and for more in-depth MariaDB coverage.
Attendance is free, but space is limited, so please RSVP on the Meetup page if you plan to attend.

The 2015 MariaDB Developers meetup is taking place in Amsterdam, from October 13th to 15th. Anyone who is interested in contributing to the MariaDB project is welcome to join!
The event will be held in unconference style with lots of opportunities for discussions and collaboration around any topic, ranging from performance, new features, connectors to packaging and documentation. All core MariaDB developers will be present and available for discussions.
The meetup lasts for three days and you can join for the whole time, or as little time as you wish.
